How do you know you're a book geek?

When you preorder two copies of a book six months before its release--one for you and one for a friend who doesn't have the advantage of free shipping. Maybe not a book geek, but at least a geek for at least one particular author. 25 March cannot arrive soon enough, Mr. Brust!

Of course, I've been geeking about Fritz Leiber for the past few weeks, diving more and more deeply into his works and just appreciating the heck out of them...to the point of finding that he has put autobiographical information in his short stories and novellae. I've been using Google Street View and Google Earth to see not only the places he writes about, but the building where he lived. If I ever make it to San Francisco, I may be spending a night at the Hotel Union at 811 Geary Street, room 607. Even if it is haunted. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say "especially if it is haunted." I'm talking to you Spirit of Fritz Leiber.

Nope, nothing to see here. No geeks anywhere in sight.
